In the work "The Leader of Working Class Plays a Decisive Role in the Revolutionary Struggle" he calls for deeply understanding the position and role of the leader in the revolutionary struggle and holding President Kim Il Sung in high esteem with loyalty.
His works clarify the principled issues arising in holding Kim Il Sung in high esteem and firmly arming with his revolutionary idea.
The works deal with the idea that all service personnel can become a-match-for-a hundred fighters when they have strong revolutionary spirit, fine marksmanship, superb tactics and strong physical strength. They indicate the ways to develop the People's Army and consolidate the country's defense capability guided by the Workers' Party of Korea's military idea and line.
They also expound the validity and originality of the Party's line and policies of economic construction and set forth the tasks to be fulfilled by all sectors of the national economy.
Contained in the works are the issues for accelerating the socialist cultural construction as required by the developing reality.
They call for heightening the revolutionary vigilance against the imperialists' aggression moves and resolutely foiling them.
They indicate the policies for defending the democratic national rights of Koreans in Japan true to the President's idea on the movement of overseas compatriots and bringing earlier the reunification of the country.
The book carries the works giving answers to the theoretical and practical issues arising in the revolution and construction including the issue of strengthening the class education and anti-revisionist education and the issue of bringing up the children of revolutionary martyrs to be the core of the Party.

Songun idea which comprehensively deals with his works in a chronological order.
It contains 98 works including talks and concluding speeches made by leader Kim Jong Il from August, Juche 52 (1963) to March, Juche 53 (1964).
In the works such as "Our Leader Is the Great Statesman" he explained that President Kim Il Sung was a great statesman and underscored the need to get a clear understanding of the greatness and exploits of the President and hold him in high esteem.
In the work "The Media of the Party Should Conduct the Education in Loyalty as a Main Task" he clarified the idea that the media of the Workers' Party of Korea should rally all people around the Party and the leader and thus contribute to stepping up the revolution and construction.
He clarified principled issues in educating the people in the revolutionary traditions in the works "Let Us Firmly Arm Ourselves with the Brilliant Revolutionary Traditions of Our Party", "It Is Necessary to Effectively Conduct the Education through the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site" and so on.
The book contains the work in which he indisputably proved the scientific accuracy and validity of the President's idea of enhancing the role of the county in the socialist construction from the viewpoint of economics and works which extensively dealt with important tasks for bolstering up the People's Army and carrying out the WPK's military line for self-defense.
Included in the book are works indicating the road of rural construction in the DPRK and works dealing with tasks of teachers and students of Kim Il Sung University to conduct scientific researches as required by the Korean revolution and in conformity with the actual conditions of the country.

and the Songun idea which comprehensively deals with his works in a chronological order.
It contains 120 works published by leader Kim Jong Il from April, Juche 53 (1964) to June, Juche 54 (1965).
The period was a turning one when the DPRK was entering into a historic stage to comprehensively build socialism of Juche under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il started his work at the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea and, thereby, a new surge was being effected in the struggle of the party and the revolution.
In the work "Let Us Develop Our Party into the Eternal Party of Comrade Kim Il Sung", he said that to strengthen the party into the eternal party of Kim Il Sung is his lifelong task and clarified the idea on accomplishing this glorious task.
In other works, he called upon all officials to follow the President's work method to turn the party work into the work with people and take care of their destiny in a responsible manner as their mothers would do.
In various works he clarified the original idea that the Korean People's Army should always perform the vanguard role in the struggle to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche. He also indicated the validity of the revolutionary line of the WPK on simultaneously carrying out the economic construction and the building of national defense and the principled issues of bolstering up the defence capability including the issue of thoroughly preparing service personnel of the Korean People's Army politically and ideologically and carrying out the military line for self-defence.
Expounded in the book are works which clarify the concrete tasks and ways facing various fields of the national economy and the ways of improving the work of literature and arts and the press.
Also carried in the book are works dealing with the issue of enhancing the function and role of working people's organizations including the youth league and improving the civil aviation as required by the developing reality and the issue of positively promoting swimming in conformity with the specific conditions of Korea, the maritime country.
