Es ist immer wieder schön und erinnert mich natürlich an die Sportfeste in Leipzig und die jeweilige Sportschau.
1977 konnte ich eine live im Zentralstadion verfolgen. Wenn auch "nur" die Genaralprobe, aber trotzdem ein bleibendes Erlebnis.

Extravaganza "Arirang" Starts

Grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", winner of Kim Il Sung Prize, raised its first curtain at the May Day Stadium on picturesque Rungna Island on August 1 evening.
Its creative staff produced new scenes representing the indomitable spirit of service personnel and people dynamically advancing toward the final victory of thriving Korea under the leadership of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, holding President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il in high esteem for all ages, and the true appearance of the DPRK which undergoes changes everyday.
Among the audience were Kim Ki Nam and Yang Hyong Sop, officials of working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel, working people in Pyongyang, overseas Koreans and foreign guests.
Minister of Culture Hong Kwang Sun made an opening address.
When songs "Fortune of Korea" and "Do Prosper, Era of the Workers' Party" reverberated through the stadium, there appeared on the background letters "Highest tribute to the great Comrade Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il", "Highest glory to the dear respected Comrade Kim Jong Un", "Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are eternal sun of Juche", "Long live Heaven-sent illustrious commander General Kim Jong Un!", turning the stadium into a huge sea of flowers and dancers.
The performers highly praised the undying revolutionary careers and feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who built on this land a socialist power, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, and demonstrated the dignity and power of the nation and glorified the 100 year-long history of Juche Korea as a proud period of great changes of the nation.
The perfect performance was highly acclaimed by the audience for the acme of human culture and art. It was featured by a good combination of music, dances, gymnastics, acrobatics and ever-changing background strong in national flavor and high in artistry and peculiar stage decors, electronic displays and laser lighting.

falls es jemand (wie ich) noch nicht wußte, 2007 wurde Arirang offiziell in das Guiness Buch der Rekorde aufgenommen, als Aufführung mit den meisten Teilnehmern.

Vielen Dank für die Info. Das sie eben diesen Rekord gekriegt hatte, war mir bekannt (hatte es mal irgendwo in einem Artikel einer bürgerlichen Zeitschrift gelesen), aber das Jahr nicht.

Ten Years of Extravaganza "Arirang"

Ten years have passed since the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang", winner of Kim Il Sung Prize, was premiered. It was created at the initiative and energetic guidance of the great leader Generalissimo Kim Jong Il.
Its 435th performance was given successfully at May Day Stadium on September 29 last.
The extravaganza, crowned with Kim Il Sung Prize in June 2002, has been awarded the "Medal of the Sun" and the order "Peace" from foreign countries and registered in the "Guinness World Record".
The folksong "Arirang" is a symbolic song of the Korean nation, a single nation.
The centenary of the Juche Calendar holds a special place in the history of our nation.
The centenary was a century of glory in which the people put an end to the history full of vicissitudes and opened up a broad road for prosperity and development, displaying the sovereignty and dignity of the nation under the leadership of the great persons of Mt. Paektu. This is the ideological and thematic content of the extravaganza "Arirang".
"Arirang" is run through with the philosophical principle of the Kim Il Sung's nation that one can enjoy the dignity and prosperity of one's country and nation only under the leadership of a great leader.
Generalissimo Kim Jong Il appreciated the performance of the extravaganza three times in 2002 to give guidance to it and saw it nine times in all.
Marshal Kim Jong Un enjoyed the performance of the extravaganza along with Pyongyang citizens on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung.
Upon hearing the news that the extravaganza was created, spectators and reporters came to Pyongyang from many countries including China, Russia, United States, Japan and Australia.
Since it gave its premiere in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung, it has been appreciated by more than 13 millions of People's Army soldiers, working people from all walks of life and school youth and children, and 184 000 overseas Koreans, south Korean people and foreigners.
Media across the world have not stinted time and space to introducing the extravaganza.
The DPRK-China co-produced feature film "Promise in Pyongyang" which deals with the grand gymnastic and artistic performance was widely screened in Korea and China this year.
The history of "Arirang" continues in Korea where the people are blessed with great leaders.

Naja ich weiss nicht.Ich vergleiche beides miteinander und klar, der Grundgedanke und das Prinzip ähneln sich aber irgendwie ist das eine wirklich gut, siehe hier:

Ist der BBC-film "state of mind" aus dem Jahre 2003 hier bekannt? (habe ich mit der Such-Funktion im Forum nicht gefunden).

Einmal schöne Bilder vom Arirang-Festival, der Film gibt aber auch gute Einblicke in das Leben Pyongyanger Jugendlicher.
Zumindest 2003 waren solche Bilder/Filme noch eine Seltenheit. Der BBC-Reporter sagt, es wäre in dem Film das erste Mal, daß eine Nordkoreanerin gegenüber einem westlichen Reporter über die Notzeit, den "arduous march" spricht.

Und der Film hält sich auch mit Anti-Korea Haßkommentaren weitgehend zurück.
