Nachdem am Montag das neue 3G-GSM Mobilfunknetz von Orascom-Telecom in Pyongyang den Betrieb aufnahm, fand heute die Eröffnungsfeier einer neuen "Ora Bank" in Pyongyang statt:

"Ora Bank Opens
Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- The Ora Bank was opened with due ceremony in Pyongyang on Tuesday.
Present at the opening ceremony were O Kwang Chol, president of the Foreign Trade Bank, Sin Pong Ryol, vice-minister of Finance, Kim Chon Gyun, director of the Central Bank, Ri Yong Su, vice-president of the Ora Bank, officials concerned, members of the delegation of the Orascom Telecom Holding of Egypt headed by its Chairman and CEO Naguib Sawiris and Ismail Abdelrahman Ghoneim Hussein, Egyptian ambassador to the DPRK, and Ezzeldin Heikal, president of the Ora Bank.

O Kwang Chol referred to the fact that the Ora Bank started its business thanks to the cooperation between the Foreign Trade Bank of the DPRK and the Orascom Telecom Holding of Egypt, adding that the bank would contribute to boosting the friendship and developing the cooperation between the two countries in the future.
Naguib Sawiris said that the bank would help towards promoting the understanding between the peoples of Egypt and the DPRK and developing the bilateral friendly relations."
Orascom Cement, der Mehrheitseigentümer an der größten nordkoreanischen Zementfabrik SANGWON CEMENT, wurde inzwischen an den französischen Baustoffkonzern Lafarge weiterverkauft.
