Kim Jong Un Visits Taesongsan General Hospital
The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un visited the Taesongsan General Hospital being built by the People's Army.
He was accompanied by Choe Yong Rim, Choe Ryong Hae, Pak To Chun, Kim Kyong Ok, Ri Jae Il, Pak Thae Song, Hwang Pyong So, Ma Won Chun, Ho Hwan Chol and Jon Chang Bok.
The hospital covering a total plottage of more than 100 000 square meters has three sick wards. It has all facilities for treatment and resuscitation.
After being briefed on the construction of the hospital before a guide map, Kim Jong Un looked round its different places for a long while to learn in detail about its construction.
Watching a painting portraying smiling leader Kim Jong Il in the lobby, he said the hospital could be built thanks to his profound loving care.
In the lobby, he said: "As I stressed while going round this place last year, it is important to provide all amenities favorable for healthcare and treatment of patients while building it splendidly and fashionably".
Watching the signboard "Yaknaejunungot" (pharmacy) past the lobby, he said it is better to write signboards not only in Korean but in foreign languages.
While walking a corridor, he underscored the necessity to put on walls visual aids introducing medical knowledge of relevant sections and place benches on corridors.
At the endoscope room and laboratory he learned about specifications of apparatuses and their installing.
At an operation room, he underlined the need to cover its walls with plastic veneer.
At an intensive treatment room, he asked if it is equipped with a real-time monitoring system.
He expressed satisfaction with an effective use of space in the abdominal surgical department, underlining the need to make a good use of space when building not only hospitals but other structures appropriate to their usage and characters.
To this end, it is important to properly design and construct structures and make strict inspection before their inauguration, he said.
Looking round various operation rooms, he asked in detail if they are completely free from germ and dust.
At sick-rooms, he praised the builders for constructing them in such a way as to keep them warm and clean so that patients may not have any inconveniences.
Noting that a children's hospital, a dental hospital and a resuscitation center are to be built in the heart of Pyongyang this year, he said it is necessary to build them successfully so that they may be impeccable in any aspect by applying good experience gained from the building of the Taesongsan General Hospital.
He underscored the need to build pavilions and plant lots of trees to create good environment for the patients' walk before winding up the construction of the hospital.
He called for successfully managing and operating the hospital.
He underlined the need to raise the level of science and IT in the field of medical science in order to improve healthcare.
After expressing satisfaction with the construction of the hospital, he extended thanks to the Korean People's Army Unit 462 for building it and promised to visit it again after its completion.
